About Ed

Passionate about geography — and your success

Hi! I'm Ed — a postgraduate student and Geography tutor with a 2:1 BSc Geography degree from the University of Bristol, where I also studied abroad in Reykjavík, Iceland, specialising in natural hazards and glacial monitoring. I'm now undertaking an MA Law Conversion, and I bring that same academic rigour to every tutoring session.

I've been tutoring for over 2.5 years, accumulating 400+ hours of experience across more than 20 students at both GCSE and A-Level. I have a proven track record of boosting grades by 2.5+ grade boundaries — but beyond the results, what drives me is helping students genuinely fall in love with the subject.

My teaching style is interactive and engaging — no long lectures, no walls of text. I plan every lesson around past papers, because mastering exam structure is where marks are won and confidence is built. I work through questions with students in real-time, identifying knowledge gaps week to week and filling them with targeted practice and real-world examples that make the content stick.

Geography is everything we see, touch, and interact with — every place is a different space. My goal is to inspire students to see that, and to walk into their exams feeling ready.

Frequently asked

Common questions

Which exam boards do you cover?
I'm experienced with AQA, Edexcel (Pearson), and CAIE — at both GCSE and A-Level. If you're unsure which board your school uses, just bring along any past papers or your specification and I'll identify it.
Do you offer online sessions?
All sessions are conducted online via Google Meet or Zoom, with a shared interactive whiteboard so it's just as engaging as in person. This means I can work with students anywhere in the UK — no travel, no wasted time, just focused tutoring.
What happens in the first session?
We'll start with a short diagnostic to understand where you are and where the gaps are. From there, we'll set goals for the coming sessions and dive into the first topic. You'll leave with notes and a clear sense of what we're working towards.
How much notice do I need to give to cancel?
I ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Life happens — I'm always happy to rearrange, and I understand that students are busy. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged at 50%.
Can you help with the NEA / coursework?
Absolutely. The NEA (independent investigation) is a significant part of A-Level Geography and often where students need the most support — from choosing a question to data collection, analysis, and write-up. I can guide you through each stage.
How do I pay?
Currently payment is arranged directly — bank transfer before or after each session. Secure online card payment is coming soon and will be available directly on this website.
